You're A Ray Of Sunshine!

 Hello friends!  While I've been on the mend from a horrible dog attack, I've had time to play with some new products from a NEW company!  This company is called My Pretty Things by Erin Thompson!  This is part of her very first release and it's filled with fun beach/summer themed stamps, dies, and stencils.

The first thing I did is have fun making the background with the Making Waves Stencil set!  I added Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink through the first stencil onto a panel of A2 sized white cardstock.  I positioned the next stencil over the panel and spritzed on Shiny Bauble Distress Mica Stain.  Before I removed the stencil, I pressed another piece of white cardstock onto the stencil to pick up the mica stain that was on the stencil!  This will make a great piece for another card (coming soon)!

When the Mica Stain was dry, I spread some Iridescent Glitter gel through the third stencil.  I set the piece aside to dry.

Next I die cut the Sweet Sunshine Layered Dies twice from two different shades of yellow cardstock.  I used a mini blending brush to add shading with two inks.

I glued the bottom two layers together, slightly offsetting the layers.  Then I glued the two pieces of the next layer, again offset.  I added foam tape to the back to adhere it to the bottom layer of the sun.  After I added the smiley face die to the inner circle, I glued on a small piece of pink cardstock behind the cheeks. I popped it up with foam tape to adhere.

I trimmed the Making Waves stenciled piece to 4" x 5-¼".  Then I placed it into a shaker pocket and adhered all sides except the top.  I poured in a pretty sequin mix that coordinates with the stenciled colors and sealed the top of the shaker pocket.  I added double-sided adhesive to the back of the shaker to adhere it to an A2 card base.

The sentiment is from the Hey There Sunshine stamp set.  I used the Hey There Sunshine dies to create the layered sentiment with a shadow die.

Let's Make A Paint Palette Mini Card for A Gift (or it could be a card too!)

Hello crafty friends!  Today I have something a bit more than just a card!  I've used the awesome Lovely Layers: Tin Palette to make a mini card to go with a paint set gift!  Check out how I made it below!

The first thing I did was use my Classics Prima Watercolor set to paint a swatch of each color onto watercolor cardstock.  Then I die cut each color with the paint tray dies in the Lovely Layers: Tin Palette Honey Cuts.

Next I die cut the tin palette first from white cardstock and another time from glossy black cardstock.  Before I glued the two layers together, I needed to cut the black piece into three pieces.  If you've ever layered two pieces of cardstock together and then tried to fold them, you know that it's difficult to get a good fold.  The top layer needs more room for those folds.  Just use your paper trimmer to cut each section of the palette to make three pieces.

Glue each black piece to the back of the white cardstock tin palette.  I put a large stamp block over the palette to keep it flat while the glue dried.

Next glue each paint color in place as well as the three pieces for the wells of the Tin Palette.  I stamped a sentiment from the Don't Worry, Be Crafty stamp set in black pigment ink.  After I cut it out with the coordinating die, I used a thin foam piece to adhere it to the palette.

While I had the Don't Worry, Be Crafty stamp set out, I stamped another sentiment with black ink.  This time I cut it out with a tag die from the Tag Builder Honey Cuts.

To decorate the outside of the Lovely Layers: Tin Palette I stamped an image from the Work of Heart stamp set with Intense Black ink onto 80# white cardstock.  Then I colored it with some Copic markers and die cut it with the coordinating die.  I used thin foam tape to attach it to the outside of the palette.

I used my bone folder to carefully reinforce the folds of the tin palette.  My tin palette would not stay totally closed so I used a removable glue dot to hold it closed.  Just place the glue dot under the top flap.  Problem solved!

What I love is that you could make this into an adorable card at this point!  Just adhere the finish Tin Palette to a card front and add the tag sentiment to the card.

Next I tied a piece of white and black polk-a-dot ribbon around the Prima Watercolor set.  I attached the sentiment tag with black and white twine.  Then I slid the colored Work Of Heart image under the ribbon.

You may notice from the photo above that the watercolor set has been used!  Haha!  I don't have a new set and had to use my own for the prop.  I would definitely purchase a new set to gift!

Sidenote:  Just thought I'd share with you, my blog friends, why I've been quite here and on social media.  On the last Saturday of July, I went for a bike ride in the morning in our neighborhood.  Long story short, a pit bull dog escaped from its leash and chased me and attacked me.  I am so thankful to God that it wasn't worse than it ended up being.  I was taken to the ER and had to have 18 stitches in my lower left leg.  Aside from the physical part of this, the emotional part has hit me hard.  If you pray, please pray that I will overcome the terror I felt.  Thank you, friends.

Floral Card For A Special Friend With Simple Stitching

Hello crafty friends!  Are you loving Honey Bee Stamps' new Maker's Mix release?  What are your favorites?  Today I'm sharing my card featuring the In Stitches: Daisy with a simple stitch that even a beginner can do!

I began by die cutting green and white cardstock with the In Stitches: Daisy dies.  I used a few Copic markers to color the flower petals and center.  Then I used coordinating DMC embroidery floss to stitch each piece with a simple back stitch.  There are lots of instructions on the web to see how to do this stitch.

I used glue to adhere the Daisy layers and set it aside to dry.

Next I used Lovely Layers: Circle Embroidery Hoops set and die cut the hoop, cloth and larger cross stitch insert from white cardstock.  I die cut two more hoops and cut out the center portion of each with a circle.  I used glue to adhere the layers together.  Then I colored the top layer with a couple brown Copic markers.

I added patterned paper from the "FREEBEE" cardstock pack to an A2 card base.  I glued the Circle Embroidery layers to the card.  (This cardstock pack is free with a qualifying $100 or more purchase, while supplies last.)

Then I stamped two sentiments from the Sew Glad stamp set in black pigment ink.  I cut them out with the coordinating Honey Cuts.  These are adhered with foam strips.

The Quickest Holiday Cards You Will Ever Make!

I have two holiday cards to share today that are so quick and easy, you won't believe it!  These use two of Spellbinders monthly club kits.  One is the 3D Embossing Folder, Starry Snowfall, and the other is the Embossing Folder, Nordic Noel.

This first card is the 3D Embossing Folder for July.

Brushed silver cardstock, from the Silver Assortment Treasured Cardstock, was used in the Starry Snowfall embossing folder and glued to an A2 card base.

Next, add two beautiful embellishments from the Merry Moments Dimensional Snowflakes set.

Then die cut a sentiment from the Christmas Florals & Sentiments die set and you're done!!!

This next card using the July Embossing Folder is created the same exact way as the card above.

This time I used Poppy cardstock in the Nordic Noel embossing folder.

More pretty snowflakes were added.  There are six self-adhesive snowflakes in the set!   I used another die cut sentiment from the Christmas Florals & Sentiments set and popped it up with foam strips.

These would be fantastic to mass produce for the holidays.  What do you think?

Stitched With Love

Hello crafty friends!  Honey Bee Stamps has another release coming called Maker's Mix!  Today I am sharing a sneak peek card with two of the new products.  This next wonderful release by Honey Bee will be available tomorrow evening after their Release Party.

This card gives you a sneak peek of this beautiful set called Stitched With Love.  It's illustrated by the oh, so talented Kelly Taylor, and of course, has coordinating Honey Cuts too!

I stamped one of the three florals from the set and the embroidery hoop onto white cardstock with Intense Black ink.  I colored the images with my Copic markers and then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I die cut three more of the embroidery hoop from 110# white cardstock and glued all of the layers together with Bee Creative Glue.  NOTE:  There are two dies for the embroidery hoop and you can die cut a solid one, or also use the inner oval die to cut out the center.

Next I used just the outer die for the embroidery hoop and die cut it from white cardstock.  I placed the die cut into the Burlap 3D embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine.  Then I glued the layered Copic colored hoop to this piece.

For the background layer on my A2 card base, I used one of the 12 patterned papers from the "FreeBee" double-sided cardstock.  This is available, while supplies last, with a qualifying $100 or more purchase and will be added automatically to your cart.  These are such pretty papers!!!

I stamped one of the three sentiments in the Stitched With Love set in black ink.  I cut it out with the coordinating die.  To adhere the sentiment I added a few pieces of foam tape and some glue.

To finish up, I used some pink gingham ribbon from my stash to tie a bow.  A glue dot keeps it nice and secure at the top of the hoop.

Cozy Wishes -- Using A Pressplate to Hot Foil

Hi!  Today I am sharing my card that features Spellbinders' July 2025 Betterpress Club Kit.  This press plate, called Festive Press, can also be used with foil, like I did here.  Read on for the details!

First I used opaque white Glimmer Foil with the Festive Press plate and my Glimmer Hot Foil System.  Most press plates are multi-functional and can be used with the Glimmer Hot Foil System!  Note: You cannot used hot foil plates in the Betterpress System.

This is the first time I've tried using a press plate to hot foil and I was very happy with the results!  I trimmed the piece to 4" x 5-¼" and adhered it with glue to an A2 card base.  There are two sentiments included with the July Betterpress of the month.  I did the same and hot foiled them and cut it out with the included die.

The Christmas tree is from the Classic Christmas Tree die set.  I die cut the layers from colored cardstock.  After I assembled the tree with glue, I added Star Dust Stickles to the ornaments and star.

I added foam strips to part of the sentiment and glue to the rest for adhere it to the card.

Christmas in July is a good thing, right?!  I love getting a head start on my Christmas cards and today's features another adorable House Mouse stamp set.  This is the Tree-mendous stamp set and is available over at Spellbinders, along with three other sets in this collection.

I stamped the Tree-mendous Christmas image in Copic safe ink and used my markers to color it.  I added gold gel pen accents on the ornaments and the star (too back it doesn't show in photos).

Next I die cut the panel with a die from the A2 Matting Basics A die set.  Then I added Splatter White opaque watercolor diluted with water for the "snow".

I die cut dark gray cardstock with a Matting Basics B die and glued it behind the colored image.  I added foam tape to the back of the layers.

The card base is an A2 size and has a panel of white cardstock embossed with the In The Pines embossing folder.

The sentiment is one of three included in the set and is popped up on the card with foam strips.
